RI Coastal Resources Management Council
The Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC), is an independent state regulatory agency composed of seventeen members. It was established in 1971 by the Rhode Island General Assembly for the purpose of managing the coastal resources of the state, from the beaches and bluffs of Block Island to the industrial port of Providence, including the rocky shores of Little Compton, barrier beaches of the southwest coast, Rhode Island and Block Island Sounds and Narragansett Bay.
