This folder is for SA - the current plan is that it will mostly be podcast links and info, for the long commute. But there could be other stuff.

Links

Most Popular
  • PodcastAlley.com -- The place to find Podcasts - One of the biggest directories of podcasts out there. Lots and lots and lots. The "religion/inspiration" sections has all kinds of interesting things, including many podcasts on meditation. I'm pretty sure there are also podcasts about yoga in the health and fitness section, too.
\nThey also have links to various podcast aggregator programs if you want to shop around more for that.
  • Productive Strategies: List of Academic Lecture Podcasts - This is a short list of some academic lectures recorded as podcasts. The links are what you need to give your podcast aggregator, so if you click on them, you'll get what looks like garbage. Might be something useful for you in there.
  • More Hip Than Hippie - If you're looking for something that is just plain entertaining, this is great. These are the ladies I love that drink beer and talk about environmental stuff. I usually learn soemthing, but it is just plain fun, too.
\nThis page is where they put the links to the stuff they talk about in the episodes, so you get an idea of what they cover, plus you can manually download mp3s from here to check them out, and to subscribe use the little orange and gray "rss 2.0" button in the sidebar.
  • 43 Folders - powered by FeedBurner - This is a productivity writer that I like, and he has very short (usually five minutes or less) podcasts about productivity issues. I think he owns his own business.
  • CraftBrewer Radio - Here's that Australian brewing podcast. This page is like a regular blog, with links to mp3s that you can download manually to check it out if you want. Or you can get a podcast download program (called an aggregator or "podcatcher") and feed it the RSS link that is in the fine print at the top of the page so it will download automgically.

  • BoilerCast: Classroom Audio File Access - A longer list of podcasts you can get to from Purdue University. They're only named by the course name, so you'll have to download a few to even figure out what the heck they're about. Click on the course name to get links where you can download things one at a time, or use the "RSS boilercast" links to get the url you need to feed to your podcast porgram.
  • communicatrix - Interesting blog by someone with Crohn's disease. she's on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet and talks about it a lot.
  • Doppler : Redefining podcasting - Doppler is a podcasting aggregator--a program that will d ownload podcasts for you on a regular schedule. Doppler is free but requires the .net framework (pronounce that "dot net"). The .net framework is also free, and fairly easy to get and install, but it is an extra step, and some people think it makes their computers too slow. I'm just now testing out doppler myself.
  • iPodderX - The Ultimate Podcast Client, Newsreader, and Directory - Another directory. They also have a podcast aggregator program.
  • Jeans - Designer Jeans - Top Brand Jeans | zafu.com - helps you find jeans that are cut to fit your shape. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds great.
  • More Hip Than Hippie - If you're looking for something that is just plain entertaining, this is great. These are the ladies I love that drink beer and talk about environmental stuff. I usually learn soemthing, but it is just plain fun, too.

  • NIMIQ - Podcast Client Extraordinaire - This is another podcast aggregator program--this is the one I've been using mostly.
  • Podcasts of non-commercial and public radio shows | 43 Folders - A list of links to other lists of links (yeah, I know, I suck) of public radio podcasts. Someplace to browse a little.
  • Print your own free calendar - This looks pretty darn cool. The calendar is fairly bare-bones, but often that's all you need. It creates a pdf document, but on my system it saves to my desktop as a .do document. I rename it to a .pdf doc, and then it works just fine. You can get a monthly calendar or a yearly calendar for nearly any date.
  • Productive Strategies: List of Academic Lecture Podcasts - This is a short list of some academic lectures recorded as podcasts. The links are what you need to give your podcast aggregator, so if you click on them, you'll get what looks like garbage. Might be something useful for you in there.
  • PublicRadioFan.com - Podcast directory - I haven't actually checked most of these out, but I'm excited about the page anyway. It is a list of public radio programs that have podcasts. Yay! It looks like if you click on the titles of the programs, they link to descriptions of them.
  • Radio Darvish - Streaming traditional persian music. Neat.
  • Zencast - Lectures on zen and meditation, usually recorded with an audience. Often quite long. Use the orange "XML" button to get the URL for your podcatcher.
