  • The Font Thing - The Font Thing is a font organiser, showing a preview of your fonts - installed or otherwise. TFT is freeware, but hasn't been developed since 1999. Some users have struck compatibility problems using TFT on later operating systems - which was one of the reasons why I personally moved over to Blacksun's XFonter.

  • ACDSee Forum at OSScraps - This is an excellent tutorial forum for ACDSee Photo Manager users, setup at OSScraps.
  • ACDSee Photo Manager - Similar to PSE ORganizer, but reputably much faster. Load catalogues of your digital scrapbook elements, categorise and keyword, to allow a fast search. Also creates slideshows, burns to DVD/CD, and has many other interesting functions. My favourite organiser for my digital elements.
  • Adobe - Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 - Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 - if you don't as yet have a photo album or organiser, then Adobe provides a cut down version of its product for free.
  • Better File Rename - Better File Rename for Windows - File Renamer - batch file renamer - renaming files, pictures, photos, folders, extensions. Shareware, but very versatile, and great for renaming folders and files with a designer's name at the front of the filename, or to rename generic image names from digital cameras to a date and number.
  • Bulk Rename Utility - Bulk Rename Utility - this is a completely free utility to allow for bulk folder or file renames, with a lot of options
  • DigiScrapInfo - ACDSee Help - This forum at DigiScrapInfo contains some articles on how to use ACDSee Photo Manager for photo and digital stash organisation
  • Digital ScrapRoom - Digital Scraproom was created to organise digital scrapbooking stash. Features drag and drop, and a file list of elements used - really helpful to create a credits list on layouts.
  • Folder Marker - Want to really be organised? Folder Marker - freeware - allows you to change the colour of your windows folders, or mark them for yourself. Helpful in organising different folders of say, fonts, elements, photographs etc, or for documents which shouldn't be deleted.
  • Font Loader - The Font Loader, by Softpile, loads a little exe in your taskbar to allow you to uninstall and install fonts quickly. It's freeware
  • Getting Started with ACDSee - Shelleyrae Cusbert's articles on using ACDSee Photo Manager for digiscrapbook organisation, held at Scrapbook Bytes
  • iColorFolder - iColorFolder allows you to change the colours of file folders in Windows XP
  • iView MediaPro - Another cataloguing system for digital asset management, similar to things like ACDSee, but a little more expensive.
  • Picasa - Picasa, now free from Google, is a good starter organising system for your digital files and photographs. It does have some problems with viewing PNG files, and provides many folders of images.
  • PrintFolders - List or index files and folders as text or html files. You can create a catalogue of all your folder contents, especially helpful for printing out if you are zipping or moving files to disk.
  • STG FolderPrint Plus - STG FolderPrint Plus allows prints of files and folders, filtering and sorting, customisation of your folder print options, multiple renaming on files, and exports of these catalogues to html, excel, pdf, csv for databases...
  • STGThumb - STGThumb can convert many image formats (avi, mpg, jpg, tif, png,psd...) to jpg thumbnails. This is useful for generating HTML albums, but registered users also get to print file lists too.

  • The Plugin Site - Plugin Commander - Plugin Commander is a tool for dealing with various image formats, plugins and effect types from various graphics applications. It allows you to manage and preview your plugin, tube and add-on collection quickly and easily. There is commercial Pro Edition as well as a feature-limited Light Edition of Plugin Commander, which is freeware. Using plugin commander, you can apply plugin filters from photoshop compatible filters to images within the commander panels. \n \n \n

  • X-Fonter - Font Manager / Font Viewer - X-Fonter by Black Sun Software is an excellent Font Management Tool providing previews for installed and non-installed fonts. Previews can be made in different text choices, and the font manager also allows installing and uninstalling of fonts to the system itself.
