• Whizzball! - Discovery Kids :: Whizzball! \nBuild the ramp from the provided blocks to get the ball to the target.

• Smack the Penguin - Very amusing & vicious--you have to hit the penguin with a bat to make it go as far as possible. There doesn't seem to be any scorekeeping.

• Reverse - Startlingly hard game where you move your cursor through mazes. The catch is that the movement of your mouse is reversed.

• collage machine 1.0 - Lets you take virtual cut-outs and arrange them on the page the way you want. Looks like it is flash based, I'm not sure. I can't get the help to work at all for me--it is just question marks, so I'm thinking it may not be in English. If you switch between the collections of clipped bits, the choices change (What you see this time in the blue collection isn't what will be there the next time.) \nI really enjoyed playing with it.

My brother Marc takes this software seriously as an audio-visual performance instrument. Balls fall from the top of the screen and bounce off the lines you are drawing with the mouse. The balls make a percussive and melodic sound, whose pitch depends on how fast the ball is moving when it hits the line."

If you're looking for dolls to give to children, of course, you need to verify this for yourself.

• Peekaboom: Not just wasting your time... - Pretty cool. This game is used to train computers to recognize images. You play online with a partner, and take turns revealing images or guessing what the revealed images are. Very simple and startlingly fun. You must have Java, and I doubt this would be any fun with a dialup, because there is a time limit and lots of interactivity.
• Place The State - Intermediate - Drop the states into their proper places on a map of the U.S.
• Planarity.net - Very absorbing puzzle game-rearrange the blue dots until the none of the lines cross. Like most good games of this type, it starts out pretty easy, until you're hooked.

• sodaplay - Strange game-art site, pretty famous. You build models using static and "muscle" bars, then set them moving. I've never been any good at building my own, but there's also a gallery of other folks' work you can play with and figure out and rebuild and dismantle.

• Starsky & Hutch Pinball - Yup, that's right. Web-based Starsky & Hutch pinball. Looks like a promo for the movie, so who knows how long it will stay available. Not a bad pinball game--some elements seem easier than I'm used to, but I don't know the terminology to describe them, but I'll try. If you light up all three of a certain set of lights, you get extra stuff. On some games, both bumper-strikes and flipper hits change which lights are lit so you can collect them. On this game, only flipper hits change it. Makes life much easier. \n \nThe "web-based" part of it seems to be the biggest drawback. It was a touch laggy on my machine, which might have been my computer, or might have been my connection. I've got a cable modem, for what it's worth. Still, I love pinball, and this was fun.
• Stick Figure fun - Two fun videos of high-violence stick figure action, and a first person-shooter game with stick figures.
