- "Beginner" E Cigarettes - Gateway or Black Eye? - Image courtesy Blucigs.comBlu, Green Smoke, Njoy and a seemingly endless list of other electronic cigarette companies. What these have in common is that a seeming majority of experienced vapers groan in agony at the mere mention of these names. I think I heard some people mutter under their breath as I typed the first sentence in this article. Perhaps the groans are warranted. Maybe there is a degree of elitism amongst some in the vaping community. My position is good or bad, I think these types of personal vaporizers hold a valuable place in the electronic cigarette circle of life.I like to... Read full post here
- "Dinky" Hand-crafted e-Cigarette Box Mod - Impressions - ECig Workshop, the company behind the Juice Jar has recently began expanding their e-cigarette product offerings. The company now sells a line of hand-crafted wood box mods. The mods are available in three sizes, tall, short and "dinky". I got my hands on the dinky model, so without further ado, here's the ECig Workshop Dinky Box Mod Review.DesignI have to say the term dinky is a bit of a misnomer. Perhaps it's because I've seen my fair share of minuscule mods like the V-MOD and the Tiny Tony, I don't think of this mod as particularly diminutive. The term is relative, since the... - Bauway CE2 Clearomizers: Impressions - There has been a lot of movement and progress in the world of e-cigarette clear cartomizers. Everyone seems to be racing to the bottom, the bottom coil that is. Even the makers of the CE2 are rolling out the CE3 which will be a bottom coil design. Bauway has decided to march to a different beat and produce their own take on the original CE2 top-coil clearomizer.DesignThe guts with thin wicksBauway's take seems to be inspired more by some of the older revisions of the CE2 than the latest versions. The most noticable trait of these clearomizers is the fact... Read full post here
- E-Cig 101: Atomizers and Cartomizers - As Steve K's Vaping World progresses and the article count steadily marches upward, I wanted to start expanding my articles designed for readers new to electronic cigarettes. I dedicate a great deal of electrons to writing reviews on cartomizers and atomizers. So, for my first article in this series I'd like to take the time to explain the technology behind the workings of each. Electronic Cigarette TechnologyImage: ecig wikiElectronic cigarettes in general work on a simple premise. Liquid, generally consisting of propylene glycol (or vegetable glycerine or a combination of the two) usually mixed with nicotine and flavorings are rapidly heated into a vapor which... - e-Cigarette News Update 12/9/11: The Jig is Up! - Welcome, you've made it to another week and another e-cigarette news roundup! We have a few different e-cigarette stories here. An overwhelming portion of the stories, however, seem to be folks who have taken offense to e-cigarette bans. Notably, these aren't sites from the vaping community, but rather general sites who don't normally report on the devices. So, kick back, enjoy your Friday, and read all the e-cigarette news that fits.Greek TragedyIt's a sad day in Greece. According to a report on keep talking Greece, the country has up and banned e-cigarettes. The country's health ministry apparently made up a... Read full post here
- EcoMod Glue from Got Vapes - Yes, you read that right, glue. I am writing a review about glue. No, I am not trying to get out of the electronic cigarette blogging game to get into the woodworking biz. Got Vapes has started selling a vegetable-based food safe (and edible) glue. What? Why?The reason why Got Vapes or any vendor has gone through the trouble of finding (and the tedious repackaging of) a food-safe glue is that we live in an imperfect world. Certain components of our e-cigs are prone to cracking - I'm looking at you CE2 clearomizer! Some times things just leak due to design flaws. The EcoMod... Read full post here
- eGo Vision Cartomizer Review - a Big update to the CE2 - The eGo Vision Cartomizer (also known as the eGo Vision Stardust) is a novel new twist on the CE2 style of filler-free clear cartomizers. There have been quite a few attempts to re-think the clearomizer. The Vortex and CE3 smokymizers tried to reinvent the concept, but have had mixed results at best. The eGo Vision sticks a little more closely to the CE2 design by leaving the heating coil at the top of the cartomizer. Everything else, however, is out the window. Read on for the eGo Vision cartomizer review to find out if it makes... Read full post here

- Impressions: The Storm Tank - Recently, I purchased a Storm Tank from Stormy's Vapor Cellar. As the name hints, the Storm Tank is what's known as a "tank mod" with a little extra feature. Tank mods are modified CE2 cartomizer in which the internal workings of the cartomizer are removed and stuffed into a different tube. The original mods used a 3ml BD syringe which happens to fit the CE2 guts perfectly. Bigger tubes eventually replaced the syringes and the tank mod was born. DetailsShiny blinky light? I'll take it!The Storm Tank is one of the mods using a larger tube. The stated capacity of... Read full post here
- Nhaler Twisted Jumbo Dual Coil Cartomizers - Impressions - Are you a fan of jumbo dual coil cartomizers? Do you find the clear tubes a little... boring? If so, the Twisted and Colored cartomizers from Nhaler aim to provide a wild color splash to the jumbo dual coil vaping experience.DesignThe cartomizers are available in several colors and patterns. The styles range from a subdued combination of silver and white tones, to a vividly bright black and yellow version. The cartomizers are sold individually, so you can mix and match them to suit your tastes (or possibly juice selection, or even shoes I suppose). This ain't your grandma's carto!Possibly the most interesting thing... - Online DIY Ejuice Mixing Calculator - Image: renjith krishnan As I begin delving into the wonderful world of do it yourself (DIY) eLiquid mixing for my electronic cigarettes, something became pretty clear to me very quickly. DIY mixing is all about the ratios. If you are someone who sucks at math like me, it's pretty important to have some sort of calculator handy to figure this stuff out for you. There's actually quite a few entries in this field, and I don't want to say that the one I'm writing about here is necessarily better or worse than any other, it's... Read full post here
- Quick Review: Ceramic Drip Tip - I am a big fan of drip tips. I only drip occasionally, but I pretty much use a drip tip on cartomizers or anything else. For me, I simply prefer the feel of a drip tip over a bare cartomizer when I'm vaping. The tips come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. There are a variety of materials, the most common being metal (aluminum or chrome plated) and derlin (a hard nylon). Other materials are also less commonly like blown Pyrex glass.Glass drip tips can be quite pretty and do a good job at keeping things cool but they... Read full post here
- Shopping Experience: Eliquid Store - I'm fascinated with DIY eJuice mixing for my electronic cigarettes. I'm not particularly good at it, but it is fun and sometimes I make stuff that isn't horrible. I generally mix in small batches just sort of playing around learning how to combine flavors. Many of my supplies come from the Eliquid StoreProductsThe Eliquid Store seems geared towards casual DIYers like me. They specialize in offering a wide selection of flavor concentrates from a number of different manufacturers in small, 1dram (3.7ml) sizes. The store only carries flavors that are water soluble, allowing for simple mixing for the neophyte mixer. Even better,... Read full post here
- UK e-Cigarette Comparison Review - This e-cigarette review is going to be a little bit different from the impressions e-cigarette reviews you might be used to. A fair number of you visit this site from around the world. Amongst my international visitors, UK visitors are the largest percentage. The folks at E Cigarette Direct, a UK company wanted to know if I would be interested in doing a comparison piece between their product and one of their top competitors. I agreed since I do get a lot of visitors from the UK who might be interested (the product is also available throughout western Europe and parts... Read full post here
- V-MOD Juice Feeder by Vapage: Impressions - The V-MOD from Vapage is a bottom feeder juice box e-cigarette that allows you to carry around both your e-cigarette and e-liquid all in one compact package. The V-MOD is probably in the middle of the pack from a price standpoint coming in well under the cost of some of the costlier juice fed e-cigarettes out there. The kit provides a good combination of performance and functionality. Update: Vapage now has an XL version of the V-MOD. You can read the Vapage V-MOD XL review here. -sk What's in the Box?...
